The New Year is filled year after year with diet promises, diet fads, resolutions to get thin, etc. and according to several reliable sources it boils down to this. It doesn?t matter so much about your weight but it does matter about the size of your waist. Really, who knew?
Belly fat it appears is more than just an unsightly picture of yourself in the mirror. Belly fat actually lends itself to showing you your true risks for health problems. Studies show that the more belly fat (?more technically termed visceral fat) you have around the middle will actually give you an excellent view of what your arteries might look like. Belly fat equals fat and plaque in arteries and fat layering around vital organs like kidneys and your heart.?
So here is the deal. The older you get the harder it will to not only loose weight but it will be more difficult to loose the belly fat and the fat around your organs. The big deal about this is that the more belly fat you have the more fat is building up where you can?t see it. This puts you at a much higher risk for DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, STROKE, AND HEART ATTACKS.? That is one big deal.
So here is the plan. Stop weighing yourself and stop fad diet plans. Work on decreasing your waist measurement instead. How you say? Eat less, move more. Decrease sugars in your diet. Increase fruit, protein, and veggies. That?s it. That?s the plan.
Belly fat is a big deal so make it a goal for 2013 to reduce your waist size by an inch or two. It is a matter of your health. It is that big of a deal.
